The second date turned into many more dates. However, all of the dates took place when her daughter was at school. While I met her daughter and the three of us watched TV, ate dinner and went on a couple of daytrips together, FirstDate#17 would not agree to staying over or go away for a long weekend. She did not want her teenage daughter to know we were sleeping together. That arrangement was fine up to a point, but ultimately it was a sticking point for the growth of the relationship.

The only date we had after school hours was going to the movies. She even had a friend babysit for her. We went to see Avengers: Endgame together. I did my best to extend the date an hour or two, but she wanted to get back to her daughter. When summer came along, I didn’t get any alone time with her due to her daughter being around 24/7. It was at that point that I started looking for something else.

FirstDate#17 is a really great woman. She has a lot of what I want in a partner. We spent an awful lot of time together. She even brought me to get one of my COVID-19 Vaccinations. Fortunately, she remains one of the best friends I’ve made since moving to Kilkenny.
