Going to the movies/cinema used to be the perfect first date. Maybe it’s because going to the movies/cinema in general isn’t what it used to be, but I almost never take dates to the movies now. Sitting quietly next to your date for two hours when you’re not sure if you should try to touch them or hold their hand seems odd now. Perhaps a better use of that time would be a nice walk or simply sitting in a café – chatting and getting to know them better.

Going into a darkened room with somebody is a pretty intimate experience.  And looking back at the last several dates I’ve had at the movies, it was with woman I had already been (or soon would be) intimate. So, I guess the moral to the story is… would you like to see a movie? 😁
