First Date #17 was with a Romanian woman living in Kilkenny. We matched on Tinder. We messaged for a little while and eventually met up at a popular café. Like most Eastern European women, she dressed very nicely for our date. Like most American men, I dressed poorly. Fortunately, she was not very judgmental, at least not with me. We each talked about living in a different country from where we were born, and found that we had some common interests. Her English was very good, but she mentioned that she was not very outgoing and struggled speaking with Irish people because they spoke so quickly. I asked if she wanted to speak with me more to increase her confidence with English (and because I wanted to see her again). She thought that was a good idea, and we agreed to meet for a second date.
