FirstDate26 is pretty, quirky and nerdy. She is the first woman I’ve met that loves Star Wars even more than I do. If she was living in Kilkenny, or if I was living in Tucson, Arizona, my blog may have been over. Alas, she was only in town for a brief moment.

She told me her favorite part of the trip had been a boat tour of Skellig Michael – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But she didn’t go there for the Gaelic Monastery built there between the 6th and 8th centuries. She went there because it was featured in two Star Wars films – The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Also, it has puffins (Porgs).

We also had loss in common. I lost my wife almost five years ago, and she lost her fiancée. I’m not sure she was even interested in dating. She was on Bumble to find some friends during her Irish visit. I don’t know if she made any others while on holiday, but she made one in Kilkenny. We remain Facebook friends and occasionally chat about Star Wars.  By the way, we both agree that Kenobi is good and that Ewan McGregor is awesome.
