First Date #46 was with a Polish woman living in Dublin. We matched on Bumble. She had very professional looking profile pictures. And that’s because she is both a photographer and a very photogenic woman. We matched in December 2020, and many of her photos were taken when she was doing sea swimming in the middle of winter! π₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Ά
Since she lived in Dublin and we matched during that first winter of COVID, we did not even talk about meeting each other for many months. It took until America’s Independence Day, the 4th of July for us to finally meet. I had hired a car to go away to Trim, County Meath for that weekend, and asked if she would be available to meet on the way back home. She said she would be, but we didn’t decide on when/where until the day. After I got a big box of donuts at Krispy Kreme, I messaged her that I was free. She suggested The Spire on O’Connell Street – one of the most recognizable monuments in Dublin. I parked my car several blocks away and walked in the lightly falling rain towards The Spire. I found a coffee shop nearby and grabbed a table. Shortly after that, the heavens opened up! π§οΈπ§οΈπ§οΈ
She arrived shortly afterwards looking pretty good but not necessarily prepared for the weather. We got drinks and started talking about ourselves. I liked what she was saying, and she was quite pretty, but I didn’t feel like we connected very much. She laughed or giggled through most of our conversation. Was she nervous or not sincere? Despite all of that, I still wanted to see what more would happen. Would we meet again?… Stay tuned!
